Wim Hof Method App Redesign
MISSION
The objective was to improve the user experience of the Wim Hof Method app, which helps users practice breathing techniques, cold exposure, and commitment. Although the app offered real benefits, many first-time users found it overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Our mission was to streamline the experience, make the interface more intuitive, and drive long-term user engagement.

CHALLENGE
The app’s complexity created barriers for new users, especially when trying to start or track cold shower challenges. A usability audit and competitor benchmarking revealed several friction points, including disorganized flows and unclear visual patterns. We began by identifying pain points and mapping out the existing user journey. Through mind mapping, Crazy 8 sketching, and collaborative ideation, we developed concepts focused on clarity and simplicity. Card sorting exercises helped improve the information architecture, while mid- and high-fidelity prototypes allowed us to test early solutions with real users. User testing highlighted confusion around multi-step tasks and summary screens. In response, we made refinements such as breaking tasks into smaller steps, simplifying form fields, and adding visual cues like progress indicators and inline validations. All design updates were carefully aligned with the brand and optimized for usability.

OUTCOME
The redesigned app led to a smoother user experience with improved task completion and higher engagement. New users were more likely to finish challenges, and conversions to premium accounts increased. The feedback confirmed that the new layout was easier to follow and more intuitive. This project demonstrated the value of a structured UX process grounded in research, testing, and iteration. Continuous refinement remains in place, ensuring the product evolves in step with both user expectations and business goals.
